CTI CELEBRATES FIFTEENTH ANNIVERSARY

CTI was founded in Cleveland, Ohio in May of 1990 by two principals who immediately set about establishing services couched in their respective backgrounds in the hazardous waste industry: regulatory compliance with EPA standards, industrial remediation, and waste treatment. The founders’ mission was to provide exceptional guidance to its industrial customers through services that exceeded expectations and included superior value. Thirty-three clients were established in CTI’s first year of operation.

The company’s initial focus centered on customer waste management services, including waste evaluations, transportation, and disposal. Beyond the two principals, the third employee position filled was that of Customer Service Representative. The CSR, from a background in waste management as well, became CTI’s main contact for its customers.

A natural addition to the set of waste services included consulting clients through waste program audits, contingency plan preparation, site inspections, employee training in RCRA and DOT, and drum storage maintenance and closures. These projects created the need for additional employees with various backgrounds to come on board, including geologists, chemists, and hazardous materials technicians.

The early to mid-1990s were also important years for those industries employing underground storage tanks, as new regulations prompted system upgrades and system removal/replacement. CTI secured licensing from Ohio and assisted numerous customers in meeting compliance with the regulatory deadlines. The UST projects gave the geologists lots of opportunities to ply their underground investigation skills!

As the years progressed and CTI’s customer base expanded and the needs became more diverse, the background specialties of our personnel grew more varied, as did their years of experience. Today, members of CTI’s technical staff are assigned to projects with specializations in each of the prime environmental media sectors of soil, air, water, and waste. Important industrial health and safety services, such as employee training, safety audits, and personal hygiene monitoring, have been added to CTI’s product lines. Also, risk identification and management tools were developed for the financial and insurance markets. In many cases, project teams are assembled to create innovative solutions for those clients with complete environmental, health, and safety program needs. Whatever the client’s need, from short-term projects to annual contracts for In-Plant Service outsourcing, CTI has always grown to meet the demand. And, recalling those original 33 clients, some of whom had one-time projects and some being no longer in business, 17 remain as loyal clients today.

The associates of CTI wish to share this message: “In this 15th anniversary year we extend our sincere appreciation to those clients that started with us and to those who have joined us since. We appreciate your past business and look forward to celebrating our next milestone with you. Compliance Technologies is very proud to be working with all of its clients, companies who have worked hard to stay in concert with the ever-changing regulations. Finally, as was our company mission in 1990 and as it remains today,

“YOUR COMPLIANCE IS OUR GOAL”.
